What is the pelvic floor and why strengthen it?

The pelvic floor is made up of a complex of muscles and tissues that extend from the pubic area to the coccyx, forming a sort of “hammock” that supports the pelvic organs. In women, the pelvic floor is characterized by consistencies that allow the passage of the newborn during childbirth even if it begins to undergo changes already during pregnancy.
Keeping this structure strong and flexible helps prevent problems such as incontinence and prolapse.
