What is Candida in Pregnancy?

When we mention candidiasis during pregnancy , we are referring to a vaginal infection.

Its onset is caused by the uncontrolled proliferation of yeast-like fungi (mycetes) belonging to the Candida species at the level of the vaginal microbiota.

In most cases, the problem is caused by a type of fungus known as Candida albicans (we are talking about 85 - 90% of diagnoses).
