Breastfeeding Support: Breastfeeding11Days

Breastfeeding is a natural thing, they say. Natural, however, is not synonymous with easy and immediate. Many women find themselves alone in dealing with the changes and possible difficulties in breastfeeding. This is why an innovative breastfeeding support was born for all mothers who want to breastfeed exclusively.

Find out what the Breastfeeding11Days method is by reading this article.

What kind of breastfeeding support is Breastfeeding11Days?

The first 11 days of a baby's life are a crucial period for a successful start to breastfeeding. The Breastfeeding11Days method sees the union of the osteopath with the midwife to provide support to the mother-baby duo.

The prerogatives of this support are mainly two:

  • The synergy of midwife and osteopath
  • The timeliness to intervene in the first days of a newborn's life.

The origins of this method

This support for breastfeeding arises from the experiences that I (Matteo Silva), as a pediatric osteopath , and Dr. Stefania Azzalini, as a midwife , have faced over the years.

Unfortunately, we have had many requests for breastfeeding support when the problems of attachment and sucking were already at an advanced stage. Without intervention immediately, breastfeeding is often compromised.

From here comes the idea and the creation of an innovative support that can allow the mother and the child to solve the possible difficulties right away. By preventing and acting in the very first days we have found very high success rates.

Who needs breastfeeding support?

Breastfeeding11Days is a support designed for all mothers who want to breastfeed exclusively, especially if difficulties have arisen from the first few days.

In the hospital, unfortunately, the new mother is discharged after 48 hours just when the milk comes in . Consequently, she finds herself alone to face the new things that come with the birth of her baby and breastfeeding.

Therefore, the possibility of requesting breastfeeding support is the best way to face this new beginning in an absolutely serene way.

When to ask for breastfeeding support?

I am aware that a mother who has just given birth to her baby is overwhelmed by so many changes. However, in order to provide her with the right support to successfully start breastfeeding, it is necessary to make an appointment in the first few days after birth . In fact, in this way it will be possible to organize the visits:

  • Home obstetric visit within 3 days of birth;
  • Osteopathic visit within 5-7 days of birth.

With the first, the midwife will provide advice for the well-being of mother and baby during the breastfeeding phase and beyond. With the second, the baby will be examined and his sucking will be assessed.
