What is breast engorgement?
As specified in this video by Doctor Maria Chiara Alvisi, breast engorgement is a very frequent occurrence for new mothers.
When it is mentioned, many people tend to get scared. There is no need to do so. It is an annoying problem , there is no doubt about it.
The good news is that it's also easily addressable.
Breast engorgement is a situation in which a part of a woman's breast does not empty while breastfeeding.
The corresponding ducts , in fact, remain partially filled with milk.
What are the signs of breast engorgement?
The fact of feeling, when touching the breast, a habit that should always be put in the foreground by women who breastfeed, a lump, a sort of hard lump to the touch and that does not seem to empty even after feedings.
Furthermore, the area in question is characterised by the fact that it is painful.
The area surrounding the aforementioned formation also appears red.
When you notice these symptoms, the first thing to do is to take your temperature.
In fact, it is essential to make sure there is no fever.
